Pay Rate: $47,760 - $59,110/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application.

Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is to manage and oversee the academic internship classes, ensuring they align with departmental goals and academic standards while providing valuable real-world experiences for students. This includes developing and maintaining curriculum, recruiting and managing student placements, offering ongoing support to interns, and evaluating their performance. Additionally, the role involves building and sustaining employer partnerships, ensuring compliance with regulations, and continuously improving the program based on feedback and industry trends.
Essential Functions:
20% 1. (Curriculum Development & Course Design): Develops and maintains the academic internship curriculum to ensure alignment with departmental goals and academic standards. This includes creating comprehensive internship course syllabi that define objectives, learning outcomes, assignments, and evaluation criteria, while revising and updating course materials based on feedback, industry trends, and academic developments. Works with department heads and academic deans to align internship opportunities with specific program needs, ensuring these experiences meet academic objectives and provide valuable, practical outcomes.
20% 2. (Student Recruitment and Management): Oversees the recruitment and selection process for internship opportunities, collaborating closely with external organizations, employers, and the PSCC Internship Program Manager. Establishes and nurtures strong partnerships with external partners to create internships that align with students' academic and career goals. Guides students in identifying suitable opportunities and supports them throughout the application process to ensure successful placements.
30% 3. (Supervision and Support for Interns): Provides ongoing support and mentoring to students during their internships, ensuring a positive and enriching learning experience. Acts as a liaison between students, internship sites, and academic departments to address and resolve any issues or concerns. Regularly monitors student progress by maintaining open communication with both students and their internship supervisors.
15% 4. (Assessment and Grade Assignment): Develops clear and measurable assessment criteria for internship courses, aligning them with learning outcomes and institutional requirements. Evaluates student performance and assigns grades. Provides constructive feedback to foster students' professional growth and maintains detailed records of student participation, grades, and internship outcomes. Prepares regular reports on course statistics, successes, and challenges for academic deans and department heads. Additionally, ensures compliance with institutional policies and accreditation requirements to uphold the program’s quality and standards.
10% 5. (Employer Relations and Partnership Development): Builds and sustains partnerships with internship site supervisors, employers, and organizations to ensure high-quality and relevant placements. Provides orientation and training for site supervisors on student expectations and program requirements. Serves as the primary point of contact for employers to address and resolve any issues related to internships, ensuring the courses’ overall success.
5% 6. (Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement): Collects feedback from students, employers, and faculty to assess the internship courses' effectiveness. Analyzes data and recommends improvements to the courses’ structure, processes, and student engagement strategies. Monitors industry trends and integrates new learning opportunities and internship formats to maintain the courses’ relevance and success.

Physical Demands: The employee must be able to communicate effectively including the ability to speak English clearly, hear, and see. The employee must be independently mobile, and must possess a valid Driver’s License and be able to safely operate a vehicle. Manual dexterity and the ability to lift moderate weight – such as boxes of printed material – is required.
Hazards: Hazards associated with working in an office environment and driving a vehicle are expected. The employee may be exposed to a variety of workplace hazards when visiting partner sites.
