Job Summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Jacksboro is accepting applications for the full-time position of Academic/Student Support Associate.

Job Duties

• Answer phones and provide students and prospective students needed information regarding admissions/enrollment and registration

• Conduct campus tours

• Attend career fairs particularly at high school locations

• Assist high schools with dual enrollment students

• Process incoming enrollment applications, assist students with self-registration and perform manual registration when needed

• Assist students with their student portal accounts

• Assist with new student orientation

• Check and work through daily generated reports

• Maintain related spreadsheets

• Enter attendance for off campus Dual Enrollment students

• Maintain accurate student records and process student exits

• Process education verifications and transcript requests

• Assist with campus bookstore

• Provide back-up duties to campus student accounts receivable as needed

• Performs related work and other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical diploma in occupational area. A comparable combination of education and related employment experience may be considered.
• Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in an office environment.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office products.
• Must have the ability to complete reports with accuracy and meet deadlines.
• Mature attitude and dependability required
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to prioritize job duties, work independently to complete tasks in a timely manner and be part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects at once with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret policies and manuals
• Banner experience highly preferred

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

This position often involves a combination of the following potential physical demands:

• Sedentary desk work - Sitting for extended periods while performing computer-based tasks, reading, writing, etc.
• Light physical activity - Walking around campus, standing for meetings or interactions, light lifting/carrying of files or supplies.
• Occasional lifting/carrying - Moving boxes, equipment, or other items that may weigh up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to navigate campus environments - Walking up/downstairs, traversing uneven surfaces, etc.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications, experience, education, and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents. This is a salary grade 6 with range minimum of $34,939 to midpoint $43,676.
