Title: Access Services Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY
Coordinates the College’s disabilities services program for students, including assessing student needs and identifying and organizing instructional and technology supports.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as the College’s liaison and informational representative for students with disabilities. Assesses students’ individual needs using evaluation reports, interviews and professional acumen and judgement and engages in an interactive process with students and relevant personnel to determine appropriate reasonable accommodations for students. Coordinates with the Testing Center to ensure students receive approved testing accommodations, according to ADA guidelines. Processes student accommodations and communicates with students and faculty using AIM (Accessible Information Management) system.
Prepares and conducts faculty/staff workshops regarding accommodations for students with disabilities. Networks with service providers to help identify appropriate supports for students. Remains current on relevant regulations and laws and other topics pertinent to the role, including recent innovations and availability of adaptive/assistive equipment and technology. Provides support to the student affairs division as needed, including assisting with admissions, orientation and advising and developing intervention strategies to improve student retention, particularly for students with disabilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in education, special education, counseling, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, social work or related field
One (1) year of experience working with students with emotional, physical and learning disabilities
Experience with case management
Experience reviewing and interpreting medical documentation
Experience interpreting and applying the ADA and Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in higher education
Experience with assistive/adaptive technology
Experience using accommodation management software systems, such as AIM or similar system
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to creatively problem-solve and proactively identify and address problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of peers, coworkers and students. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities while maintaining complete and accurate records.

Rate of Pay: $43,453.00 - $54,316.00 annually, depending on experience
