Job Summary

Responsible for assisting with college’s financial statements, grant reporting, preparing journal entries, detailed reports, and account reconciliations.  This position is in person on the Harriman campus. 

Job Duties

  • 1. Performs accounting functions requiring initiative and the exercise of independent judgment and knowledge of organizational/fund accounting, including reviewing and reconciling records and documents.
  • 2. Performs accounting functions for grant accounting, serving as Grant Lead Accountant.
  • 3. Reviews documents and accounting records and prepares reports and journal entries.
  • 4. Develops and maintains spreadsheets and/or other related files and records.
  • 5. Assist in closing the college financial systems monthly and annually; prepare reports, schedules and analyses as needed.
  • 6. Develop ad-hoc reports for department. 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in reconciling financial data; preparation of financial reports and up-to-date knowledge of GASB.
Experience working cooperatively in a team environment or as a facilitator to achieve goals of self and department or organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years related experience.
Experience in higher education setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks in a prompt and accurate manner.
Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, and generate reports.
Basic understanding of spreadsheet software applications.
