Job Summary

Biology courses are offered at the following Roane State Campuses: Oak Ridge, Roane, Cumberland, Scott, Campbell, Fentress, and Loudon County.

Teaching loads may include day or evening hours and/or satellite campuses.

Lectures typically meet two days per week. Laboratories meet one day per week. Daytime and evening classes are available.

Job Duties

  • 100% - Emphasis will be placed on teaching students in on-ground lecture and laboratory courses. - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of a Master’s degree with 18 or more graduate semester hours in biology, anatomy and physiology, biomedical sciences, microbiology and/or biological sciences from a regionally accredited institution.

Candidates for teaching Anatomy and Physiology must have graduate coursework that enables teaching of Anatomy and Physiology courses according to HAPS standards. Candidates with professional degrees (M.D., D.O., D.C., D.D.S., D.V.M.) will meet this criterion.

Candidates for teaching Microbiology must have substantive graduate coursework in microbiology and laboratory aseptic techniques.

Previous experience teaching lecture and laboratories is desired.
Demonstrated ability to teach traditional face-to-face classes.
Use of technology (Zoom, D2L) to support student learning is expected.
