Job Title: Adjunct of Physical Therapy Assistant Program
Campus Location: Walters State Community College - Niswonger Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose: Develop and teach Neuromuscular Conditions and Treatment for the PTA in the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program, offered during spring semester.
Essential Job Functions:
Develop and teach courses in the PTA program, campus laboratory facilities.
Prepare course syllabi, materials, evaluate student learning and maintain class records.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Degree in Physical Therapy (PT) or Associate’s degree in PTA.
Minimum of one-year full time recent clinical experience as a PT or PTA.
Hold active, unrestricted license to practice as a PT or PTA in Tennessee.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
Three years or more full-time clinical experience working with patients who have neurological conditions.

Leadership & Supervisory: This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but is expected to participate as part of a team in conjunction with other Physical Therapy Assistant faculty and as a member of the Health Programs division.
Environment & Working Conditions: Classroom environment is temperature controlled, but runs warm. Classroom is well lit, and free from loud noises and unnecessary interruptions.
Physical Demands (including requirements for travel or working nights/weekends/holidays):
Large amounts of time spent looking at computer monitors could lead to some eye strain, stress, or headache issues.
Repetitive stress injuries could occur.
Safe use of physical therapy laboratory equipment is required.
Physical abilities to demonstrate and instruct in class lab skills and competencies.
