Job Title: Administrative Assistant of Campus Police

Institution: Walters State Community College
Campus Location: Morristown Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide a wide range of skills for the Campus Police Department that serves all five campuses of Walters State Community College.
Essential Job Functions:
Provides customer service for the Campus Police office. Answers calls immediately and determines the level of service needed before referring to an officer in the department.
Prepares and processes routine correspondence, budget adjustments, purchase orders, travel, and other documents.
Maintains department master task list and calendars with appointments, project timelines, and critical due dates. Assists the Chief with TIBRS and Clery Act data collection.
Assists in the ongoing key audit and accountability of campus police equipment.
Assists in maintaining the campus emergency texting system.
Creates documents for the Chief to be distributed among department and campus.
Revises and maintains internal and external office forms to include campus maps, catalog revisions, and suggested communications to students.
May perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
An associate’s degree is required.
Excellent communication skills, advanced computer skills, and organizational skills.
The ability to use common office equipment such as a PC, telephone, copier, and printer.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five years of career experience in a related position. Educational and/or police department.
