Provides administrative and clerical support to the DSCC Henry County Center.

Working Conditions:

Sedentary: Deskwork; occasional travel may be required for college or program activities. Normal range of movement required. Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office settings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve in a receptionist role while supporting various administrative functions of the Center.
  • Complete payments from students.
  • Assist students with library access including checking out books, computers, calculators and making student IDs.
  • Maintain Zoom courses for students at the center including troubleshooting equipment.
  • Clean the classrooms and office areas.
  • Serve as a primary customer service agent for students who register for classes at the Center.
  • Maintain a calendar to assist students with scheduling advising and testing appointments, at the Henry County Center, eventually utilizing Appointments Plus software.
  • Complete certifications requirements in order to assist with proctoring tests.
  • Collect tests and other course materials for faculty when necessary.
  • Provide support services to faculty and students.
  • Utilize the Banner software program to assist students with student enrollment and registration needs.
  • Provide accurate information and pertinent forms relating to all Admissions Office and Business Office requirements in a timely manner.
  • Assist students with the registration and priority registration processes for credit and noncredit courses.
  • Assist with planning and completion of community events.
  • Assist with Dual Enrollment at the local high schools when needed, including acting as a substitute in the classroom when needed.
  • Manage office technology, i.e. copiers, fax machines, telephones, etc.
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining classroom schedules and other room assignments.
  • Process key requests for faculty and staff.
  • Lift and move equipment and furniture.
  • Maintain office files that are pertinent to this position.
  • Maintain an office supply list and occasionally order supplies when needed.
  • Provide minimal leadership and support to student organizations when necessary.
  • Occasionally serve as a courier between the Center, local financial institutions and area high schools as required.
  • Complete travel requests and authorizations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal staff, students, and community stakeholders.
  • Scan and archive student records for the Emergency Medical Services Program.
  • Have a flexible schedule to adjust hours around classes, including evenings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements of Education and Experience:                                

  • High school/GED graduate.
  • Minimum of one-year clerical office experience with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. 
  • Experience setting up distance learning classes such as Zoom
  • Experience working with high school or college students

Minimum starting salary is $28,400 annually ($14.57 per hour). With additional experience pay increases to a maximum of $34,100.
