Job Summary

The Administrative Technical Support II position primarily supports the administrative/technical/logistical functions of the External Affairs Division, including technical support of events (SOAR, Workforce Convenings, Foundation Board Meetings, and TBR Quarterly Board Meetings). Secondary support responsibilities include the Regional Workforce Coordinators and TCAT Web Services.

This position may have the opportunity to work remote within the state of Tennessee but with periodic visits to the TBR System Office (Nashville, TN) at the employee’s expense, and potential travel to Tennessee TBR colleges may be necessary.

Job Duties

  • 35% - Responsible for transporting/load-out/load-in; installation and technical support of audio-visual and computer equipment in support of External Affairs produced events (SOAR, Workforce Convenings, Foundation Board Meetings, and TBR Quarterly Board Meetings) - (Essential)
  • 30% - Support videography, video editing and photography needs of the Office of External Affairs, including travel to capture content as needed. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Responsible for analyzing and resolving hardware and software issues in a timely and accurate fashion and providing end-user training where required. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Serve on committees, participate in required Division meetings and planning sessions; and support TCAT Web Services technical requirements and content development as needed. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Other duties as assigned. - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

Technical Diploma or equivalent education and experience
Three years’ experience in information technology and/or audio-visual production.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree in a related field
Experience working in higher education
Relevant industry certifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of computer and communications technology, including large format printing. A keen understanding of audio/visual equipment (soundboards, wireless microphones, lighting). Excellent organizational skills; oral and written communication skills; and listening skills.

Expert proficiency with Apple/PC platforms and office software/technology such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, MS Teams; computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, Learning Management Systems).

Possesses interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Ability to multi-task, work effectively in fast-paced, changing environment; capable of working efficiently with limited supervision, while maintaining confidentiality.

Ability to travel and stay overnight to provide support for meetings/conferences/events.

Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
