Job Summary
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Hartsville is accepting applications for the position for Aesthetics Technology Instructor to be located at TCAT Hartsville main campus. This full-time position requires 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
POSITION SUMMARY: To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
• A high school diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
• Vocational or Technical School certification training or apprenticeship in Aesthetics required.
• Active Tennessee License as Aesthetics and/or Cosmetology Instructor required.
• Three (3) years of successful recent employment experience in the specialty area to be taught.
• Must possess a complete and thorough knowledge of procedures and methods related to teaching.
• Willingness to remain current in the technological changes of the industry.
• Shall possess skills and knowledge in all areas of aesthetics.
• Possess good character, mature attitude, stable personality, and exhibit evidence of potential ability to instruct.
• Possess good organizational, mathematical, language, writing and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Teaching, training or salon management experience
• Experience in higher education
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, colleges, business and industry, faculty, staff and the general public
• Strong customer service skills; must possess effective oral and written communication skills to accurately convey information and to effectively present information
• Must have ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs, audio/visual equipment and software
• Must have the ability to multitask with good organization and planning skills
• Passionate belief in the power of education along with the desire to help students achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals
• Must be willing to remain current in the Aesthetics Technology profession and remaining licensed
• Ability to be flexible and handle a variety of tasks at one time
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team-oriented environment
