Job Summary
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville, is accepting applications for the full-time Apprenticeship Specialist positions in the TCAT Knoxville Anderson County Higher Education Center. This is a grant-funded position.
The Apprenticeship Specialist is responsible for developing and expanding registered apprenticeship opportunities with local employers. This position works closely with local industries, economic development agencies, chambers of commerce, and education partners to create new apprenticeship programs that connect students and job seekers to careers through hands-on, on-the-job training.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, in a related field such as Business, Education, Marketing, or Counseling from an accredited institution
• Minimum of two years’ work experience in customer service, education, recruitment, marketing, or related fields
• Proactive and results-focused professional with expertise in project planning, execution, and delivery, driving projects forward to achieve desired outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in higher education
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Demonstrated experience coordinating career education programs or partnerships
• Demonstrated experience with grant reporting and project management
• Attention to detail
• Strong customer service skills; must possess effective oral and written communication skills to convey college information accurately and to present information to large groups and individuals effectively
• Must have the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs, audio/visual equipment, and software; and working knowledge of maintaining student records and/or sensitive information
• Must have the ability to multitask with good organization and planning skills
• Passionate belief in the power of education along with the desire to help students achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals
• Ability to relate to a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
• Ability to represent the College and division professionally with internal and external constituents to further the purpose, values, and mission of the College
