Title: Assistant Director of Admissions

POSITION SUMMARY
Assists the Director of Admissions and Records in directing and supervising all functions of the Admissions Office.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Director in the daily management of the Admissions Office. Provides leadership in designing, developing and implementing technologies to enhance and support Admissions Office services. Supervises assigned staff and oversees all office processes.

Assists with the maintenance, accuracy and integration of the College’s different admissions application types, including managing available programs of study. Assists in the preparation of a wide range of reports for the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), Tennessee Higher Education Commission, National Student Clearinghouse, Veterans Affairs and the College. Corrects admissions data for census reporting to TBR each semester. Works closely with Technology Services Division and Student Affairs to automate admissions process to ensure timely processing of applications.

Serves as the Designated School Official (DSO) through SEVIS to ensure compliance with all regulations regarding international students. Trains faculty and staff on admissions process as needed. Serves as the expert for Banner functional operations when needed. Assists the Director in preparing the Admissions and Records Office budget. Assists the Director in planning and implementing the Institutional Effectiveness Plan for the Office of Admissions and Records.

Processes admissions documentation for special student groups. Investigates and resolves problems related to the College admissions application. Resolves escalated complaints from potential students, registered students and parents. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree

Three years of experience in higher education in admissions or student services office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree

Prior supervisory experience

SEVP Certificated

Experience working with SEVIS and VA education benefits.

Prior experience with Banner and functional experience with Argos and Automic

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Critical thinking skills. Ability to build and manage a team of employees. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population. Knowledge of federal laws, rules and regulations as they apply to FERPA. Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations as they apply to students’ matriculation process. Knowledge of SACSCOC standards. Excellent oral and written skills.

Rate of Pay: $46,861 - $58,576 depending on experience
