Jackson State Community College is seeking a qualified candidate for the Assistant Men’s & Women’s XC/Half Marathon Coach Position. This position will assist the Head Coach with the organizing, planning and coaching of the JSCC Men’s & Women’s XC/Half Marathon Team.
Job Duties
Assist with the execution of practices and trainings
Recruitment of student-athletes
Travel planning
Equipment maintenance
Facilities maintenance
Transportation (driving & coordination of travel)
Coaching
Possess the technical knowledge and teaching skills to prepare student-athletes for competitions.
Recruit prospective student-athletes to participate in XC/Half Marathon
Ensure compliance with both national and college policies
Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate degree from an accredited college or university • Prior coaching experience • A commitment to knowing and complying with NJCAA, TCCAA, and institutional rules.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to work with a diverse population • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills • Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations • Ability to travel extensively during the recruiting process • Ability to work in a highly dynamic and diverse university setting
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
