Job Summary
Roane State Community College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Science with Cloud Technologies specialization beginning August 1, 2024. The successful candidate will serve in support of Roane State’s A.A.S. in Computer Information Technology, which offers concentrations in programming, cyber defense, networking, and Cloud Technologies. Courses in this program range from entry level training including A+, Linux+, MS Office, and Net+; includes training in AWS Cloud Foundations I and II.

Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
Master of Science degree in computer science or computer engineering from a regionally accredited institution. Candidates with degrees in related fields should expound on their qualifications in the cover letter.
Graduation from an institution that has a history of AWS Cloud Technologies certifications is a must.
We will also accept relevant professional experience in other cloud technologies and virtualization, which should be explained in detail in the cover letter.
Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills and exhibit flexibility and collegiality.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience in cloud technologies at a community college, including online teaching. Computer skills including familiarity with online instruction tools such as Desire2Learn.
Knowledge of the role and purpose of the community college in higher education.
Willingness to work with diverse student populations who represent a wide range of age, ethnicity, and academic ability.
