Job Summary
This is a 9-month faculty, full-time, four-year grant-funded position. Responsible for teaching, advising, and coordinating of the medical coding program to ensure students are offered high-quality services and meaningful education.
Job Duties
50% - ○ Complete Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) program reporting requirements ○ Monitor, evaluate, and report medical coding program results and outcomes ○ Serve as a liaison with Strategic Network Partners as well as Delta Regional Authority (DRA) - (Essential)
30% - ○ Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid, or web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Teach evening, off-campus, and distance-based courses - (Essential)
5% - ○ Assist in budget management to ensure grant funds are available and are allowable ○ Assist in the recruitment of key personnel such as instructors. ○ Assist in the development of the student recruitment plan - (Essential)
5% - ○ Assist in the growth and development of the medical coding program ○ Participate in student advising, recruitment, and retention - (Essential)
10% - ○ Other duties as assigned to support the Medical Coding program - (Marginal)
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelors Degree or higher and a certification in the medical coding field ● Collegiate-level teaching experience ● Certification in medical coding, medical billing, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
● Knowledge of Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) ● Experience working on federal/government grants
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Pay Rate: $43,223 - $51,867 Annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.
