The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for a second full-time instructor in the Automotive Technology program at the Clarksville Campus. The college is increasing emphasis in electric vehicle maintenance and is seeking individuals with knowledge in electric vehicle maintenance along with traditional auto mechanics experience. This is a grant-funded position.

GENERAL DUTIES: The Automotive Technology Associate Instructor is responsible for providing individualized theory and hands-on instruction to adult and high school students to prepare them for employment in the field of auto mechanics. The Automotive Associate Instructor must monitor, grade and evaluate individual student progress; maintain student records in the college’s student records management software; maintain appropriate documentation; submit timely reports; and assist in recruitment of new students and placement of graduates. The Associate Instructor must also maintain good public relations with business and industry, maintain an active advisory committee and cooperate with outside agencies. This position will also supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education. Some travel is required. Areas of instruction include training in the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) certified program and the eight areas of ASE certification: engine repair, transmissions and transaxles, manual drive train and axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical and electronic systems, climate control, and engine performance. This position is full-time and reports to the Clarksville Campus Director. Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Scheduled class hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is not a remote position.
SALARY: $50,142-$60,171 per year ($25.71-$30.86 per hour). Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines and directly related experience.
