The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Associate Instructor in Digital Graphic Design for the Williamson Campus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education with credentials in related field. Associate degree preferred. A comparable combination of directly related experience in the field and education may be considered.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the Digital Graphic Design field within the last five (5) years.
  • Must possess a high degree of knowledge in all areas of the field.
  • Must possess the organizational and communications skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with high school and adult students.
  • Must possess strong computer skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other related software.

SKILLS

  • Prior teaching experience or evidence of ability to teach a plus.
  • Must show evidence of good character and mature attitude.
  • Must be willing to remain current in the instructional field and maintain personal certifications and program accreditation(s).
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public and business/industry representatives.
  • Good time management skills necessary.

GENERAL DUTIES:  The Digital Graphic Design Associate Instructor is responsible for providing individualized theory and hands-on instruction to adult and high school students to prepare them for employment in the field. Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to, typography, color theory, print and webpage layout, digital illustration, photography and image editing. The Associate Instructor must monitor, grade and evaluate individual student progress; maintain student records in the college’s student records management software; create and maintain lesson plans and course materials as needed; maintain appropriate documentation; submit timely reports, and assist in recruiting new students. This position must also maintain good public relations with business and industry; maintain an active advisory committee; cooperate with outside agencies; and supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education. Some travel may be required. This position is full-time and reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Compliance. Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Scheduled class hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Classes are taught at the Williamson Campus located at 1228 Liberty Pike, Franklin, TN. This is not a remote work position.

SALARY:  $50,894-$61,074 annually ($26.10-$31.32 per hour).  Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines and directly related experience.
