Job Summary
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Knoxville, warmly invites applications for the position of Collision Repair Technology Instructor. Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent with a technical diploma in a related field
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a collision-related field
• Master ASE-certified technician or eligible to sit and pass the examination within the first six months of hire
• Strong hands-on technical background in the field of instruction
• Demonstrated effective communication and organization skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Teaching and supervision in areas of Collision Repair
• Earned an Associate's Degree from an accredited institution
• Knowledge of Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) policies and procedures
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Must have a strong hands-on technical background in all aspects of collision repair
• Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher
• Must commit to remaining current in the field of collision repair
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must possess computer skills and the ability to utilize technology to enhance teaching
• Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
• Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with students, the public, and other employees
• Strong customer service skills
• Computer skills, including general knowledge of Microsoft Office
• The instructor will ensure that all activities comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
The workday has the potential to be varied based on the needs of the students and faculty. Lab and material prep will always be necessary daily, and the requirement to move between classrooms and work areas, often with materials and supplies. Overseeing a lab also involves standing and walking. Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, and reach overhead, and lift a minimum of 20+ pounds. Must be able to use tools or special devices to work.
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience according to Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines within the range of $50,142 - $60,171.
