Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a commercial bus or passenger vehicle to transport college groups to designated locations for athletic games, academic functions, or other events.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe and clean.
Maintain accurate mileage, fuel, and trip logs in accordance with college and DOT regulations.
Assist in the loading and unloading of equipment and luggage as needed.
Maintain professional and courteous interactions with passengers and college personnel.
Report any vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or incidents immediately to appropriate personnel.
Comply with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including Department of Transportation (DOT) rules.
Ensure timely arrival and departure for scheduled trips.
Maintain confidentiality and student safety while representing the college on and off campus.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) Endorsement.
Clean driving record and the ability to pass an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
Minimum of 2 years of experience driving a commercial or passenger vehicle preferred.
Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and overnight travel.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience transporting college athletic teams or student groups.
Familiarity with regional and out-of-state travel logistics.
Ability to lift and carry luggage or equipment (up to 50 lbs).
Work Schedule & Compensation:
Hours: As needed; primarily evenings, weekends, and occasional overnights.
Compensation: Hourly, commensurate with experience.
