The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) is Tennessee's largest higher education system, governing 40 post-secondary educational institutions with over 200 teaching locations. The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time position of Career Coach.
Job Duties
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Increase awareness of career and technical education opportunities to increase nontraditional enrollment.
2. Serve as campus point of contact for students, parents, school personnel, high school instructors, college faculty and employers on topics related to career guidance.
3. Provide career exploration and career counseling to help students identify career goals and select appropriate programs of study and/or industry certifications for achieving these goals.
4. Provide non-traditional career awareness to potential students.
5. Serve as SkillsUSA Advisor.
6. Report, post, and track activities to support grant outcomes.
7. Ensure students are prepared to apply for and interview for employment opportunities by providing resume workshops and interview training prior to program completion.
8. Develop networks with community agencies in an effort to communicate employer needs and student placement opportunities.
9. Assist in connecting potential employers with students to support work-based learning and job placement opportunities.
10. Plan & facilitate activities for students to develop worker characteristic skills that enhance career readiness.
11. Perform other duties uniquely and directly related to career and technical education as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. 2. Detailed and results oriented. 3. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

1. Ability to work as part of a team and alone in daily work. 2. Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English with excellent public speaking and presentation skills. 3. Ability to work with diverse populations. 4. Advanced computer knowledge, Microsoft Office applications with Publisher, and student information systems
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
1. Heavy use of Computer
2. Normal standing, sitting, and walking
3. Lifting of boxes weighing approximately 40 lbs.
4. Operating a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.
