Title: Child Care Aide 2

Job Summary

This is a full-time position in the Early Childhood Education program.

The Child Care Aide 2 is under close supervision under the Director and Lead Teacher. The Child Care Aide 2 is responsible for implementing program, goals and classroom objectives, and performing related work as required for children six (6) weeks to five (5) years old.

Job Duties

  • Assists in directing and directs activities of children in program.
  • Assists with supervision of small and large groups of children.
  • Assists children with self-help skills.
  • Work with individual children on specific tasks and helps with serving meals and snacks.
  • Helps in planning and developing each day’s activities.
  • Assists with the preparation and presentation of educational materials.
  • Records, evaluates, assesses and updates regularly class attendance, etc.
  • Attends all related training and seminars.
  • Attends all parent related activities, conducts or assist with parent conferences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of child care experience.
  • Early childhood Education Child Development Credential (CDA) or higher is preferred.
  • Applicant is required to obtain CDA within 6 months

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of instructional methods, materials and program operations for six (6) weeks to five (5) years.
  • Knowledge of recreational activities associated with creative play.
  • Knowledge of the psychological and biological needs of children.
  • Ability to make decision, both within and without the guidelines of established procedures.
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly in stressful situations.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public, children, and other employees.
