We have openings for part-time/ adjunct instructors at our Chattanooga State campuses.  Openings include, but are not limited to: Leadership, Microsoft Office programs, Summer Camps, OSHA, Welding, Electrical, AutoCAD.

 

The role will be responsible for the following:

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Economic & Workforce Development division, the part-time/ adjunct instructor will be responsible for creating and delivering course instruction based on their expertise. Classes may be scheduled during the day or evening and morning or afternoon. Classes may be taught in a variety of formats (virtual, online, hybrid, in-person) and may be taught at any of our Chatt State campuses or off-site at businesses. The instructor is expected to facilitate the classroom instructional process, evaluate students, monitor progress and maintain attendance and grades (when applicable). The instructor is expected to stay in communication with the division during the schedule of courses.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Teaching Excellence and Program Innovation

The instructor is responsible for the following:

 

Course and Curriculum Development:

  • Select texts, supplemental documents, supplies, and other learning resources; develop supplemental instructional materials; use current technology in preparation, creation, and delivery of instruction
  • Create and revise courses and/or curricula as needed; maintain updated course syllabi

 

Professional Growth:

  • Remain current within field of assigned instruction, related occupational areas and technologies
  • Acquire, maintain, and apply knowledge of current instructional methodologies and materials
  • Review with the division evaluations after courses are completed.

 

 

Service to Students:

  • Respect the rights of students and access to educational opportunities
  • Assist in recruitment of potential students

 

Service to the College and Community:

  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues
  • Strengthen relationships between the college and the community when recruiting through community outreach

 

 

Holistic Student Support

  • Ensure that services promote accessibility and reflect equity-minded practices
  • Promotes, supports, and participates in student recruitment and retention efforts

 

Fiscal Stewardship

  • Adhere to transparent and responsible business practices in budget development and expenditure of funds.

 

Organizational Culture and Inclusive Practices

  • Embraces and promotes the College's goals and mission
  • Maintains an environment that is open and inviting for students to reach out concerning the course taught

 

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Must possess the knowledge and expertise in the field being taught.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications and/ or degrees in the field; comfortable working with a diverse population/ background

Projected Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and according to salary guidelines of the Tennessee Board of Regents
