Job Summary

Reporting to the Dean of Technologies, the Coordinator of the Technologies Division is responsible for promoting student success by leading comprehensive student support initiatives, coordinating high-impact recruitment and outreach events, and actively contributing to faculty curriculum development and technical training. The role involves assisting the Dean and Assistant Dean in activities related to advising, student organization leadership, accreditation, and providing essential technical assistance to faculty and staff.

Job Duties

The primary duties of the position are structured around the three core areas of focus:

• Student Support & Success

o Provide campus-wide oversight and direction for the NeSCC SkillsUSA chapter, serving as the chapter lead advisor.

o Coordinate registration, travel logistics, and student supervision for student events.

o Develop, train, and advise student leadership teams, and formulate recruiting strategies to conduct membership drives.

o Provide ongoing preparation, resources, and technical guidance for competitions.

o Serve as a primary point of contact for various technical certifications specific to Technologies students and graduates.

o Provide technical assistance and training to faculty, staff, and student workers as needed.

• Recruitment & Outreach Events

o Coordinate all Technologies and division-related college activities focused on increasing student enrollment and community engagement.

o Plan and execute division participation in career fairs, department tours, and equipment demonstrations for prospective students.

o Organize instructor visits to local high schools and middle schools as a key component of the student recruiting strategy.

• Faculty & Curriculum Development

o Provide essential technical input for curriculum development, assist with curriculum changes, and help with the development of division/department policies and procedures.

o Coordinate and manage planning meetings, including advisory committee meetings, developing a curriculum, and accreditation visits.

o Liaise with Technologies department chairs for professional development, strategic projects, and long-term planning.

o Assist the Technologies division as a participant in various grants to help meet division initiatives.

o Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science degree or higher in a division-related field from an accredited institution.
• One year of lab assistant or other student-facing experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience in student recruitment for technical fields.
• Student organization experience.
• Experience advising students.
• Experience in grant administration.
• Experience supervising student workers.
• Experience using learning management platforms.
• Conversational ability or fluency in a second language other than English.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with faculty, staff, and students
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and convincingly, and interact effectively with faculty, students, and administrators
• Knowledge of effective instructional methods
• Ability to connect with students to facilitate academic success
