 2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)

Salary: $21,894.00-$24,894.00

General Function: 

Employees in this class are under close supervision. Work performed is cleaning and maintaining assigned areas and other related activities. The custodian is responsible for keeping the assigned area and/or building (s) in a clean, safe, functional, and secure condition within the prescribed manner and in accordance to Motlow policies and standards. The custodian will maintain her/his assigned area and/or building(s) in a state of operational excellence such that they present no interruptions, distractions, or obstacles to the curricular learning process at the Motlow facilities.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

High school diploma or equivalent. Related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis up to four years.  Must have a valid state driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications: 

High school diploma or equivalent and One (1) year of custodial work experience.  Related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis up to four years. Must have a valid state driver’s license.

 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Report to and follow oral or written instructions from the Custodial Supervisor/Lead worker.

•Empty trash containers daily and keep trash can liners replaced as needed.

•Dust all desks (loose papers will not be moved), filing cabinets, bookcases, tables, picture frames, window sills, ledges, moldings, and counters. Also remove all cob webs.

•Clean all classroom marker boards, chalkboards, chalk trays and erasers daily.

•Dry mop all hard surface flooring and resilient tile in the assigned area per schedules. Wet mop all floors in the assigned area when needed to maintain appearance.

•Keep toilet tissue, roll towels, and soap containers full.

•Clean and polish restroom mirrors and chrome.

•Clean and sanitize all fixtures, commodes, urinals, sinks, and restroom floors on a daily basis.

•Set up all events. Assist in set-ups for registration, graduation, ballgames, etc. as needed.

•All other duties assigned.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and carrying that weight 25 yards.

•Basic computer skills.
