Job Summary

Responsible for professional facilities construction management and supervisory work of considerable difficulty. Coordinates construction and renovation projects for the Tennessee Board of Regents Institutions. Assists in the development, coordination, and execution of policy and methods. Assigns, trains, supervise, and evaluates subordinate staff for field observation, scheduling and technical support. Reviews and approves data from contactors for payment of work and materials.

Job Duties

  • 40% - Plan, organize and direct the work of bid/contract management; develop and execute CM/GC Master Contracts and review and approve GMP’s. - (Essential)
  • 12% - Supervise and participates in construction technical duties. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Ensures the TBR projects are completed in an orderly manner and within the budget; reviews data on requests from contractor for payment and approves same where proper; reviews, approves or denies change orders as requested by the contractors, designers and facilities users. - (Essential)
  • 7% - Manages or assists in special, unusually complex, or difficult projects. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Assists in the development, coordination, and execution of policy and methods. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Coordinates and implements new construction and renovation projects. - (Essential)
  • 8% - Establishes, supervise, and maintains contracts with consultant firm(s) for statewide commissioning contracts. - (Marginal)
  • 3% - Supervises and participates in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of technical and standard operation computer generated records and reports; and other duties as assigned - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or construction related field.
• Extensive construction related experience in a supervisor position is required for this position.
• Qualifying professional experience in facilities construction management may substitute for the required education.
• Computer experience including word processing and spreadsheet
• Five years related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Critical Path Method Scheduling.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience with Word, Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and any other critical path method scheduling software,
• Knowledge of critical path concepts for construction scheduling and working knowledge of A201 General Conditions.
