Title: Director of the Trenton Center

Job Summary

The primary objective of this position is to promote, develop and manage the operation of the Gibson Center of Jackson State Community college consistent with institutional goals and objectives.

Job Duties

  • 75% - Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the center. Supervises the management of the physical facilities and equipment at the campus and coordinates with Jackson campus staff as needed to ensure the proper maintenance and appearance of the facilities Be first point of contact for emergency maintenance, information technology support, and security issues. Assist students, advise students, and coordinate testing. Work with deans on scheduling and the needs of the center. Maintains regular contact with the essential offices and support services on Jackson Campus in order to conduct the day-to-day business of the Center. Maintains a working knowledge of internal and external policies, guidelines, and procedures specific to the operation of a Center. Assists in the formulation of reports, analyses, studies, objectives, and strategies on enrollment, major trends, patterns, projections, etc. related to the Center. Prepare and manage budget. Responsible for all funds collected at the center. Responsible for faculty travel claims. Assign, review, coordinate, and evaluate work of staff. Act on employee problems, discipline, and award pay increases. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Represents the College in the community to ensure awareness of the campus offerings and develop effective partnerships between the College and community and industry groups in Gibson County including Dual Enrollment and Dual Credit. Makes monthly external visits and check-ins to educational, industry and non-profit organizations in Gibson County. Promotes the College and the campus to internal and external constituencies. - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of administrative/higher education experience

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree and experience in higher education developing and coordinating various community, industry and educational partnerships.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Reasoning ability required in administrative decision making, advising and assisting students, project coordination, performing complex tasks and applying relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations. Office administration, customer service, public relations, time management, organizational, management, scheduling, and personnel management skills required. Must be self-motivating and able to exercise ethics and maintain confidentiality.

Pay Rate: $51,970 - $64,963 Annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.
