Title:                          Dual Enrollment Associate

Classification:         Full-time Administrative – Non-Exempt – Support Staff

Office Location:      TCAT McMinnville, 241 Vo Tech Dr., McMinnville, TN 37110

Hours:                       Normal work hours 7:30am-4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, or as needed to fulfill duties of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.  Five years of experience in K-12 or post-secondary required.
  • Ability to lead, plan and prioritize projects.
  • Demonstrated abilities in leadership, human relations, communication skills (written and verbal), and organizational skills.
  • Evidence of strong work ethic as it relates to timeliness of reporting, oversight of multiple on-going projects, and the ability to work with industry, educational institutions, and employers.
  • Ability to effectively analyze data and inquiries, think critically, and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English with excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of network systems; knowledge of student information management systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with multiple local businesses, employers, industry, workforce development agencies, secondary and post-secondary institutions.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekend and evening hours.
  • Ability to work with a variety of constituents such as students, parents, high schools, employers, and postsecondary.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Possess valid TN driver’s license.
  • Willing to travel as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Previous dual enrollment experience.

 

General Duties:

  • Manage communications with prospective students, parents, guests, high school counselors, independent counselors, employers, and college constituents.
  • Act as a liaison between TCAT-McMinnville personnel, area high schools, students (including homeschool), parents, and employers to expand EPSOs and work-based learning opportunities for students.
  • Ensure dual enrollment registration and grant applications are completed at the beginning of each high school term.
  • Visit each high school in the TCAT-McMinnville service area at a minimum of once per month.
  • Oversee all dual student enrollment and records.
  • Train and support dual enrollment instructors on TCAT processes.
  • Serve as a success coach for dual enrollment students and continue coaching when dual enrollment students transition to TCAT – McMinnville.
  • Counsel graduating dual students and help them transition to TCAT – McMinnville.
  • Develop and maintain tracking tools of academic performance and success for dual enrollment students.  Keep accurate data on dual enrollment as requested.
  • Participate on committees, task forces, and advisory board as appropriate for the growth and development of K-12 programs and TCAT - McMinnville.
  • Participate as a member of the student services team for special events, including student orientations, graduation, student appreciation days, etc.  Plan and coordinate TCAT-McMinnville high school events such as NC3 signing.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or President.

 

Background checks will be completed on all new hires. Potential employees will be asked to sign a background release authorizing TCAT-McMinnville to complete a background check which will include the following: Sex Offender Registry, County Criminal &Federal Criminal.

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions (ADA REQUIREMENTS)

Walking, climbing, bending and stooping. Work performed in office, testing center and classroom environments. Position requires the use of a computer.

Sedentary Work – Walking or standing to a significant degree; sitting for brief periods of time; be able to bend and stoop; use body members (arms, hands, fingers).

 

SALARY: Commensurate with experience, education, and training according to Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
