General Function: 

 

Manage the Dual Enrollment Program for an assigned region. Serves as liaison with LEA and community partners. Is an advocate for Dual Enrollment students leading efforts in Dual Enrollment student recruitment, admissions, academic progress, and retention in support of Motlow State Community College mission and strategic plan. Coordinates all student activity for the assigned region relating to the Dual Enrollment Program.

Minimum Qualifications: 

 Bachelor’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution

 Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution and At least two years of experience in higher education student services, program management or serving high school student populations.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, strategic planning, development and implementation of successful dual enrollment student initiatives, recruitment, enrollment, retention programs, and services for an assigned geographical region that are responsive to student and college needs. Collaborate with area high school CTE directors to expand and accelerate dual credit and dual enrollment programs/opportunities in the high schools.
  • Assist and support current or prospective dual enrollment students with all aspects of the admission process and Dual Enrollment Grant and/or Middle College Scholarship applications, advise and support high school students in regard to academic and career pathway options, transfer, and completion. Serve as advocate for dual enrollment students, assisting in the resolution of issues and obstacles to learning.
  • Develop, compile, prepare, process and submit all required lists, reports, and recurring reports necessary for program analysis and grant management. Generates Final Grades Report for all high schools in assigned geographical region each semester; Obtains, compiles, prepares, revises, and submits grade reports for all assigned students in geographical region to the appropriate school district representatives. 
  • Maintain active communication with prospective and current dual enrollment students through all available and appropriate communication methods (in-person, phone, email, and/or Navigate text messages); Serve as advocate for dual enrollment students, assisting in the resolution of issues and obstacles to learning
  • Serve as Student Success Advisor to support and advise all students in assigned geographical region; Provide explanation of courses available and eligibility requirements to students wanting to take dual enrollment courses; Partner with high school counselors to determine which courses students want to take; Compile and share spreadsheets or lists with high school counselors/personnel and ensure it stays up to date. Verify student enrollment and attendance to high school counselors and/or personnel in the schools; Follow up with students who are marked as not attending to ensure they know how to access their courses in D2L if taking courses online and/or know their class schedule if taking courses on campus.
  • Assist with graduation processes; Complete Intent to Graduate Forms for Middle College and certificate completion students; serve as advisor to ensure enrollment in classes appropriate for degree and certifiable for grant funding
  • Provide explanation of programs available and eligibility requirements; verify and certify eligible students through FAST; verify student enrollment and attendance to high school counselors and/or admin in the schools; provide other assistance with the enrollment and grant process
  • Maintain records for dual enrollment students including suspension, probation, withdrawal, and other student issues; report probation and suspension status to high school counselors, students, and parents
  • Assist the Dual Enrollment Director and other Dual Enrollment Managers in their geographical region with orientation, information sessions, admissions applications, consent forms, grants/scholarships, LDC exams, other college proctored exams as needed
  • Serve on or act as chair of college committees as assigned or needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of applicable college policies and local, state, and TBR laws, codes, and regulations concerning college pathways, confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA, admissions, Dual Enrollment Grant and Middle College Scholarships and other areas that affect student enrollment and persistence
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituents in a diverse community.
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with students, parents, school counselors, CTE Directors and other school administrators, fellow employees, college administrators, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to develop professional documents and make individual or group presentations to stakeholders including potential students, students, faculty, staff, executives, and internal or external stakeholders
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community partners
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system(s) (Banner), word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, e-mail, database, and internet
  • Ability to work effectively and productively as a team member keeping others informed of pertinent information.  Treat others with respect, maintaining a spirit of cooperation. Use diplomacy and tact in dealing with difficult situations or people and be receptive to constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of program evaluation, student assessment, and the various student support services required to enhance instruction and contribute to student success through student enrollment and persistence
  • Knowledge of basic data collection and analysis related to student learning outcomes, retention, and success
