Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of High School Programs, the Dual Enrollment Substitute Teacher serves in various local high schools in the emergency or planned absence of a Northeast State Dual Enrollment Instructor. They follow provided lesson plans and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
Job Duties
• Serve as a substitute teacher in various high schools in the emergency or planned absence of a Northeast State Dual Enrollment Instructor.
• Upon arrival at the high school, report to the Main Office and check-in to complete required sign-in process (state issued ID may be required).
• Take attendance and submit to designated school official.
• Follow the lesson plans as provided by the High School Programs Office and Northeast State’s faculty member.
• Establish and maintain order in the classroom.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials, equipment and facilities.
• Prior to leaving the high school, report to the Main Office and check-out to complete required sign-out procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervision
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
• Experience working with high school or college students
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited institution
• Conversational ability or fluency in a second language
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
• Behaviors: Prompt, Courteous, Attentive
• Exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor
