JOB SUMMARY
Instructors provide high quality instruction to foster student learning while maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment in the classroom. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats, including in-person, hybrid, and online and at several locations within the 5-county service area. Instructors also maintain regular communication with students between classes and are responsible for several institutional duties such as committee work, assessment, registration, and advising.
In addition to the instructor responsibilities, the ECED Director leads the NAEYC accreditation reviews, reports, and site visits to ensure compliance and program quality. The director will develop class schedules and oversee faculty recruitment and training. The director will develop and implement marketing strategies while leading student recruitment and academic advising efforts. The director will build and maintain appropriate partnerships with local schools and organizations for field placement and program collaborations. The director serves as Chair of the ECED Advisory Board to help guide program development.
The ECED Director normally teaches four classes in fall and spring semesters with one class release time and an additional $1500 stipend for the summer semester.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICIATIONS

Faculty must devote a minimum of 37.5 hours per week to the institution, maintain appropriate office hours, and secure approval for any commitments which might affect employment.

Job responsibilities involve maintaining two classroom/lab environments used to teach students using a variety of technology in and out of the classrooms. Computers are used extensively for instruction, documentation, and communication. Demonstrate and continually develop computer proficiency necessary for job performance.
JOB LOCATION
The position is an on-site role in the Mary T. Barker Humanities Building, located on the main campus of Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee. This will be the primary workplace, with occasional travel and/or teaching responsibilities to off-campus sites and local schools within the five-county service area and state-wide travel for TBR initiatives and state affiliate meetings as needed.
