JOB SUMMARY

The Enrollment Outreach Coordinator serves as a strategic professional staff member responsible for leading enrollment initiatives and advancing community partnerships through enrollment outreach, applicant engagement, educational pathways, and workforce alignment efforts that support the institution’s strategic enrollment goals. This position works collaboratively with K–12 school systems, community organizations, business and industry partners, and internal departments to strengthen recruitment pipelines, increase student access, promote college readiness, and support overall enrollment growth throughout the college’s service area.

The Coordinator collaborates with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Workforce Development, and external stakeholders to support pathway development, expand educational access, and enhance enrollment efforts aligned with institutional priorities and regional workforce needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICIATIONS

Salary range/pay grade to be determined. Applicants who do not meet the minimum years of experience, once established, may still be considered; however, compensation will be aligned with the base salary of the assigned pay grade.

  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum of TBD (-) years of experience in any combination of:
    • Higher education/student services (e.g., advising/planning, enrollment processes (registration, admissions, orientation, etc.), student success initiatives, etc.).
    • Workforce development (e.g., coordinate trainings, assist in initiatives, career readiness services, etc.).
    • Community engagement (e.g., partnership building, planning/coordinating community events, develop outreach strategies, facilitate sessions/groups/committees, etc.).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Strategic Pathways and Partnership Development (35%)

  • Develop and implement initiatives that strengthen educational and workforce pathways across the college’s service area.
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with K-12 school systems, workforce agencies, community organizations, economic development entities, and business and industry partners.
  • Collaborate with academic divisions to align pathway initiatives with workforce demands and regional employment trends.
  • Coordinate initiatives that promote Tennessee Promise, Tennessee Reconnect, adult learner access, workforce development, career exploration opportunities, and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) events.
  • Support innovative access and transition strategies for traditional, non-traditional, and underserved populations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the college and external stakeholders to expand community engagement and institutional visibility.

Community Engagement and Enrollment Outreach (25%)

  • Represent the college at community, educational, and workforce-related events throughout the region.
  • Develop and implement enrollment outreach strategies that strengthen the college’s presence and engagement within the community.
  • Coordinate collaborative programming and events designed to increase awareness of educational opportunities and career pathways, including but not limited to Campus Tours, Open House, Program Showcase, Cougar Days, and Cougar Track and Treats.
  • Develop strategic communication plans and partner with Marketing and Communications to ensure consistent messaging, branding, outreach materials, and promotional resources align with institutional priorities, pathway initiatives, community engagement efforts, and workforce initiatives.

Career Pathway and Access Initiatives (25%)

  • Lead initiatives that support exploration of academic and career opportunities connected to regional workforce needs.
  • Coordinate pathway programming that assists individuals in navigating educational opportunities from inquiry through enrollment.
  • Support initiatives focused on adult learners, workforce reskilling, dual enrollment awareness, and career-connected learning opportunities.
  • Identify barriers impacting educational access and collaborate with campus and community partners to develop responsive solutions.
  • Facilitate partnerships that create experiential learning, career awareness, internship, and workforce engagement opportunities.

Data Analysis, Planning, and Institutional Support (10%)

  • Analyze enrollment, participation, and outreach data to evaluate pathway and engagement initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and strategic recommendations to support institutional planning and enrollment goals.
  • Uses prospect and applicant Argos reports to pull and convert prospects to applicants to admitted students. Routinely uses the report as a contact strategy to navigate prospects/applicants through the enrollment processes.
  • Monitor emerging trends in higher education, workforce development, and community engagement to inform strategic planning.
  • Assist with institutional initiatives, strategic planning efforts, and collaborative projects related to enrollment growth and student success.
  • Support cross-functional enrollment initiatives through participation on the Enrollment Services leadership team and engagement with the Strategic Enrollment Team, as invited.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and innovation among academic affairs, student services, workforce partners, and community stakeholders to advance educational pathways and inclusive excellence.
  • Collaborate with academic affairs, student services, workforce partners, and community stakeholders to support educational pathways and student access initiatives.

Non-Essential Functions (5%)

  • The Enrollment Outreach Coordinator will be required to meet standards now required or which may be required by the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC).
  • May be required to achieve additional skill, knowledge, or credential levels.
  • Must attend all college functions as required.
  • Serve on institutional committees as approved by the supervisor.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong leadership, relationship-building, and collaboration skills, with the ability to develop and maintain partnerships with educational institutions, workforce agencies, community organizations, business and industry partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage a wide range of audiences through clear, professional, and responsive interactions.
  • Experience using data-informed planning and decision-making to evaluate initiatives, identify opportunities, support strategic enrollment and workforce development goals, and develop innovative solutions that support student access and community impact.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, work independently, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of workforce development trends, educational pathways, and student access initiatives, with the ability to support programs and partnerships aligned with regional
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and the ability to create documents, manage data, prepare reports, and support daily operations.
  • Preferred experience:
    • CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems and student information systems.
    • Working alongside K-12 systems, workforce agencies, community organizations and/or business and industry partners.

WORK ACTIVITIES & EQUIPMENT

Work activities routinely involve the use of standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, scanners, telephones, and other related devices. Employees are expected to perform tasks such as data entry, document preparation, email communication, and report generation using these tools.

JOB LOCATION

This on-site position is based in the Recruitment Office located in the Student Affairs Building on the main campus of Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee. The role requires travel throughout the college’s five-county service region, as well as occasional travel to state meetings, conferences, and professional events. Occasional evening and weekend work is required to support community events, partnership meetings, and college initiatives. Additional travel within the service area for meetings, outreach, and program-related activities is also expected.
