Title: Event Technician (Temporary Part-Time)

Position Summary: Primary job will be in the Clayton Performing Arts Center, Goins Building Auditorium and other spaces on the Hardin Valley Campus. However, events occur on all five campuses so travel can be expected from time to time.

Closing Date: This position will stay open at the department’s discretion.

Type of Appointment: Temporary Part-Time

Department: PSCC-Event Services

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:              
                                                                                                                                                                  
30% Provide technical support for internal/external events including audio/video equipment setup, testing, and teardown, operating lighting and
sound boards, recording equipment, and backstage management.

20% Provide functional support for scheduling college events including data entry into the college scheduling software.

20% Provide functional support for box office operations including selling tickets and processing ticket orders.

20% Consult with internal and external clients to plan lighting, sound, media, and staffing requirements to stage events. Planning could include attendance at meetings and rehearsals to determine needs.

10% Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of 1 year related work experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff to foster a cooperative working environment. Client management experience beneficial. Sound and light board operations in a theatrical or event space, understanding of standard A/V equipment, experience with data entry software, Audio/Video troubleshooting skills, wiring, reading wiring diagrams, understanding both audio reinforcement and playback systems, basic mechanical knowledge. Skills with word processing, spreadsheets and database applications. No second language is required.

On the job training with sound and light board operations, scheduling software, and ticket sales software.

Preferred Qualifications: Specific experience in performing arts, including theatrical lighting, sound, and stage management.
