The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Lead Facilities Support Associate 6 for the Clarksville Campus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma in a related field preferred. A comparable combination of related education and related work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience in construction and/or building/mechanical maintenance systems maintenance within the last seven (7) years. Some supervisory, crew lead or foreman experience preferred.
  • Mature attitude and dependability required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive truck with trailer and operate forklift equipment safely.
  • Knowledge of the materials and equipment used in preventive and general maintenance tasks.
  • Knowledge of methods and procedures allowing for the safe and proper performance of maintenance duties.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in general maintenance areas including electrical, plumbing, lighting, landscaping, painting, carpentry, HVAC, GHS and OSHA regulations, and using tools and equipment needed to complete tasks in the listed areas.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  • Ability to safely operate tractors, commercial mowers, weed eaters and other equipment used for grounds upkeep.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings of buildings and systems strongly preferred.
  • General computer skills required.

GENERAL DUTIES:  The Lead Facilities Support Associate 6 position is responsible for maintaining the college building, mechanical systems, equipment, and immediate grounds using skills in light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, landscaping and other areas as needed. The position performs tasks such as moving furniture and other large items, setting up for events, landscaping and mowing, and other duties as assigned. This position also provides direction to other Facilities Support Associates and work study employees at the Clarksville Campus and purchases supplies and parts as needed. The Lead Facilities Support Associate may also interact with representatives of TBR, contractors, maintenance vendors and suppliers who service the campus. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7.5 hours per day, between the hours of 6:45 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. with a fixed schedule to be set after employment begins. Some travel and work at satellite campuses may be required. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Strength requirements (physical demands) - Mental and Visual Demand:

    1. Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    2. Walking or standing continually; be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use body members, (arms, hands, fingers) tools, or special devices to work, move, guide, or place objects.
    3. Requires mental and visual attention to detail.

SALARY:  $37,866-$47,332 per year ($19.41-$24.27 per hour). Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines, directly related experience and education.
