Title: Grant Manager – Gear Up Grant (Grant Funded)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Grant Manager will serve as the Nashville State liaison to designated GEAR UP middle and high schools in the Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) system and will manage all grant responsibilities for the College.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and plan College visits for GEAR UP cohort students. Coordinate and implement summer experiential learning programs for GEAR UP cohort students. Develop, plan and coordinate co-curricular retreats for GEAR UP targeted schools and faculty. Coordinate and plan parent events such as college admissions process, FAFSA workshops, transition workshops and TN Reconnect information sessions for parents interested in returning to school. Support GEAR UP MNPS staff with path to college events, e.g., College Planning Night, FAFSA Frenzy, College Application Month and College Signing Day. Coordinate and plan service-learning opportunities for GEAR UP cohort students. Coordinate and plan GEAR UP MNPS orientation events for graduating seniors matriculating to Nashville State Community College.

Facilitate and align dual enrollment opportunities for GEAR UP cohort students beginning the dual enrollment process. Advocate for GEAR UP cohort students by becoming an active member of the Better Together initiative. Help develop MNPS dual enrollment visions, goals and supports in coordination with the MNPS Ready Graduate Coordinator to align with GEAR UP grant goals and objectives. Support development of a dual enrollment strategy and policy that will support MNPS students beyond the life of the grant. Work closely with GEAR UP MNPS partners to ensure students and families are informed and feel supported.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Two years’ experience in project management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in project management in a secondary or post-secondary environment.

Knowledge and understanding of the college process to support first generation/low-income youth.

Bilingual in any of the top 4 MNPS languages: Spanish, Arabic, Swahili or Kurdish.

Experience working with students in pre-college and postsecondary programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to travel to GEAR UP schools is required. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed, to support GEAR UP MNPS staff and students.

Rate of Pay: $61,000 annually, depending on experience
