HUMAN RESOURCE COORDINATOR

(Full-Time) 

 The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time position of Human Resource Coordinator. 

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.   
  • Experience in a professional work environment with a general knowledge of human resource management and employee relations. 
  • Demonstrated abilities in leadership, human relations, communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize projects, attend to multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

 General Duties

  • Assist the President in carrying out the mission and strategic goals of TCAT Crump in Administrative Services and Human Resources. 
  • Responsible for employee recruiting, hiring process and onboarding new employees. 
  • Establish, maintain, and ensure appropriate records for hiring procedures as required by EEO, ADA.
  • Prepare employment contracts for all personnel.
  • Submit new hire information to Service Center for TBR Portal access and leave report/timesheet functionality.
  • Maintain all staff personnel files, ensuring compliance of security standards and applicable laws/regulations.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement professional development opportunities for employees.
  • Implement and manage employee wellbeing and engagement programs
  • Promote a positive organization culture through events, training and communication
  • Process background screening and reference checks on final applicants.
  • Maintain service award/longevity award files, schedule awards.
  • Prepare required human resources reports to the Tennessee Board of Regents and outside agencies.
  • Process leave requests/reconciliations, compensatory time, and timesheet approvals in TBR Portal.
  • Monitor worker’s compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Maintain employee handbook.
  • Process FMLA and employee accommodations requests and maintain documentation.
  • Assist with preparing personnel policies, developing operating procedures, and establishing reporting methods. 
  • Coordinate annual faculty promotion review with President.
  • Coordinate annual employee evaluation process.
  • Maintain personnel budgetary account balances.
  • Administer payroll and benefits for employees on all campuses.
  • Assist the Equity Officer by supporting and coordinating the College’s compliance with federal and state equal opportunity and equity laws, as well as policies and guidelines on equal opportunity and equity (e.g., Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Violence Against Women Act and other related state and federal regulations and TBR requirements).
  • Assist with the annual Records Holding Report; maintain, prepare and submit certificates of destruction; disseminate information on state records disposal guidelines.
  • Supervise and evaluate assigned employees.
  • Support the Safety and Security Coordinator.
  • Assist in public relations and recruiting for the institution.
  • Maintain required personnel and human resource functions to meet federal and state agencies, and accreditation agencies guidelines.    
  • Conduct employee exit process
  • Monitor Affirmative Action Plan
  • Prepare travel authorizations and travel claims.
  • Perform other duties as directed and assigned by the administration.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience and according to salary guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Use of computer 
  • Normal standing, sitting, and walking
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects.   
  • Operate a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.
