Job Summary
The successful candidate will provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom/lab, with a significant emphasis on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical degree or diploma from an accredited institution
• Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in industry
• In-depth knowledge of electronics, variable frequency drives, mechanical maintenance, electrical motor controls, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, PLC (RSLogix), instrumentation, predictive and preventative maintenance, and industrial robotics
• Possess the communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor
• Show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and a mature attitude
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
• Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with students, the public, industry partners, and other faculty and staff
• Skilled in managing deadlines and working in a team-oriented environment
• Commitment to utilizing technology in the teaching/learning experience and willingness to stay up- to- date in developing instructional technologies
Preferred Qualifications
• Five years of work experience in the industrial maintenance profession.
• Knowledge of digital textbooks and digital learning resource platforms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Provide instruction to students in all phases of the Industrial Maintenance Integrated Automation Technology program curriculum
• Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students' progress, maintain student records in the college's student records management software, maintain appropriate documentation, and submit timely reports
• Maintain good public relations with related industries and an active program advisory committee
• Collaborate with outside agencies and industry to establish work-based education experiences for students
• Collaborate with K-12 education partners to establish dual enrollment to full-time enrollment pathways as needed
• Other duties include curriculum development, program accreditation, daily lesson planning, student recruitment and placement, follow-up of program graduates, participation in professional development activities, and student organizations
