Title: Instructor, Chemistry – 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for delivering quality chemistry instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach chemistry courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class.
Regularly check Nashville State email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Set and honor scheduled office hours for student conferences. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Chemistry (OR) Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and relevant instructional technologies.

Rate of Pay: $41,051.00 to $51,314.00 annually, depending on experience
