Title: Instructor, Surgical Technology – 9/10 Month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in Surgical Technology.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform job duties from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location. Teach courses on-ground at the assigned campus/instructional site/work location. Other instructional delivery modes, such as online, hybrid or web-enhanced, taught from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location, may be assigned based on operational needs, as determined by the College. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check College email and departmental mailbox.
Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree
Current Surgical Technology certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least two years' experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
Minimum Bachelors degree in a health-related field
Central Sterile Processing certification
Prior work experience at a community college
Prior academic teaching experience in a health care field
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a wide range of faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA and HIPPA.

Rate of Pay: $48,421.00 - $60,526.00 depending on experience
