Job Summary
The Maintenance Worker performs a variety of facility maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping duties to ensure safe, functional, and well-maintained college facilities and grounds. Responsibilities include responding to work orders, performing basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and flooring repairs, conducting preventative maintenance, assisting with campus event setup and breakdown, maintaining outdoor areas, and supporting shipping, receiving, and surplus operations. This position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to operate maintenance equipment and vehicles, adherence to safety practices, and the flexibility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency response situations. A high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and successful completion of background checks are required.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid Driver’s license.
Must pass a background investigation, including a favorable motor vehicle record, and criminal background report.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills.
Ability to use various tools and equipment.
Ability to work in different types of climates including both hot and cold, indoors and outdoors.
Ability to regularly push, pull, lift, move and carry 50-75 pounds.
The ability to be able to work occasional overtime in the evenings as well as nights and weekends to support campus events and/or respond to maintenance and weather issues which would include being able to get to work during inclement weather to get parking lots and sidewalks cleared and ready for the college to reopen.
Able to climb and work from ladders and scaffolding.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Ability to follow instructions.
Experience in the operation of mowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, and other typical equipment.
