Mathematics Laboratory Coordinator

The Mathematics Laboratory Coordinator position is full-time, 10 months, and primarily stationed at the Main Campus in Dyersburg, but also serves the Jimmy Naifeh Center in Covington, TN, and the Henry County Center in Paris, TN. The position reports to the Chair of Fine Arts & Mathematics. This is a 10-month modified fiscal year position. Typically off June and July.

Duties and Responsibilities:


• Maintains schedules for all math labs both in person and via zoom.
• Supervises all math lab activities.
• Provides tutoring for students.
• Oversee and provide proctoring for math testing in the math lab and/or via Zoom.
• Arrange extra tutoring as needed based on student’s needs.
• Serves as liaison between students, faculty, and campus services. Makes student referrals as needed.
• Maintains computerized math lab attendance records.
• Recruits and trains tutors.
• Is responsible for hiring math lab tutors and collecting application paper work for human resources.
• Maintains tutor payroll records and submits monthly payroll for math lab tutors.
• Maintains knowledge of math course learning platforms, materials, and content.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Sedentary: Desk work; travel will be required for college or program activities. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office and performance settings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.

Required Qualifications:
• Ability to communicate well in oral and written English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to tutor and evaluate student performance.
• Ability to maintain required records.
• Ability to work with staff and colleagues in department and college committees and related activities.

Minimum Requirements of Education and Experience:


• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• One to three years’ experience working with low-income first-generation students.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Mathematics.
• Master’s Degree in a subject area that supports the general education core.

Salary Range- $31,365-$39,185.
