Title: NCCER Core Construction Instructor

Employee Classification: Part-time/Temporary

Institution: Northeast State Community College

Department: Adult Education

Campus Location: Northeast State at Kingsport

Salary: $30.00 hourly

Job Summary

Reporting to the Program Director for Adult Education, the Adult Ed - NCCER Core Construction Instructor will teach NCCER Core Curricula which includes safety, basic craft skills, power tool, shop tool and hand tool usage to the apprentices. Communication and construction drawings are also components of the Core Curricula this position will be responsible for teaching.

Job Duties

• Deliver NCCER Core field-specific lab training content to a diverse audience

• Drive improvement in process effectiveness and efficiency

• Complete other assignments as directed by supervision

Minimum Qualifications

• Specific NCCER Core Curricula experience for instruction material being delivered

• Experience in an industrial setting or other qualifying experience as approved by supervision

• Experience as a teacher in a vocational/technical construction or maintenance-related training program

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid NCCER certifications

• Expertise in the field

• Previous teaching experience in skilled trades

• Conversational Ability or fluency in a second language.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Technology Skills: MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
• Capable of learning new technology and applying the new technology in the lab environment
