POSITION SUMMARY
In alignment with the College’s purpose, mission, and values, the Early College Outreach Specialist serves as the primary liaison between assigned high schools, their students, and the College. The Early College Outreach Specialist acts as the primary recruiter, admissions counselor, and academic advisor for all dual enrollment students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Holistic Student Support
Coordinate all student outreach activity relating to Early College programs in assigned high schools including recruitment, admissions, orientation services, advising, registration, grant application/processing, and materials management.
Maintain an extensive knowledge of campus supports available for dual enrollment students, and assist dual enrollment students in accessing these supports.
Maintain current knowledge of Chattanooga State programs, curriculum and transfer pathways.
Serve as the primary academic advisor for assigned early college students.
Fiscal Stewardship
Assist high school students with their TSAC Dual Enrollment Grant applications.
Provide updates to students, families, and high school staff regarding the TSAC Dual Enrollment Grant.
Organizational Culture
Represent the Early College Program within the College and to the public.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with high schools and K-12 district partners.
Provide information to school personnel regarding Early College programs, policies, and procedures.
Coordinate communication efforts between the Early College office and students/parents.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with College faculty and staff.
Teaching Excellence and Program Innovation
Act as the primary recruiter in area high schools maintaining a physical presence in our six county service region.
Provide support to the director in achieving goals, objectives, and standards for the Early College Program.
Assist the director in implementing new and innovative programs at assigned high schools.
Stay current by reviewing nationwide academic research relating to best practices, trends, and legislation that affect high school partnership programs and academic advising.
Preform other job related duties as assigned.

Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment managing several projects simultaneously
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent travel to high schools in the College’s six county service area
Working occasional nights and weekends
Physical requirements include those of working in a general office setting
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and training: Associate’s degree
Work experience: 3 years full-time administrative experience in higher education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and training: Bachelor’s degree
Work experience: 2 years in both K-12 and college administrative experience, 2 years of financial aid experience, and Banner experience
Fluent in Spanish
Salary Range: $44,156 - $55,196
