Job Summary
Reporting to the Adult Education Program Director, the ESL Teacher is responsible for teaching English language and literacy to adult learners with limited English proficiency according to Tennessee Adult Education ESL content standards and assessment competencies while accommodating individual learner’s needs and goals.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications
• Active Teacher’s License or Waiver
• ESL Certification
• One year of teaching experience in secondary, post-secondary, or adult education programs
• Proficiency in language other than English
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills demonstrating an ability to establish a positive relationship with staff and students.
• Knowledge of and ability to consistently apply TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) best practices
• Ability to travel to satellite class locations when necessary
• Able to work a split schedule, including up to two evenings per week
