Job Summary
Work performed in general police work, conducting investigations of crimes and accidents, protecting property, facilities, citizens, staff, and students by law enforcement.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED. Graduation from Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training Academy under TCA 38-8-107, with one year of Law Enforcement Experience. POST standards require applicants to meet the following requirements of TCA 38-8-106:
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a verifiable US citizen
• High School Diploma or GED
• No criminal record of any kind
• No dishonorable or other than honorable discharge from any military service
• Have fingerprints on file with TBI
• Pass physical and psychological exam by licensed examiner
• Have good moral character as determined by extensive background check
• Be free of mental disorder as described by the Diagnostic and Statistical manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-Ill)
• Possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License
Location/Schedule: Primary duty station is Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) in Athens, TN; however, all officers may be required to work any and all Cleveland State Community College locations or TCAT Athens. Anticipated work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Extended hours may be required on an as needed basis.
