Job Summary
Reporting to the Dean of Behavioral & Social Sciences the Political Science Faculty member is responsible for teaching a full range of college-level Political Science classes, including teaching at off-campus sites, high schools (dual enrollment/Middle College), or online as assigned. They will teach and develop traditional, online, and hybrid courses, as needed; be responsible for ordering equipment; help recruit and advise for the department; and perform all duties associated with community college faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
• By the time of appointment, the candidate must have an MA/MS degree in Political Science or a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Political Science from an accredited institution.
• Two years of teaching experience in the Political Science area.
• Experience with curriculum and/or course development.
• Teaching experience with technology, including online instructional tools and mobile devices
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with the dual enrollment/middle college population
• Traditional, in-person teaching experience
• Experience advising student clubs
• Familiarity with making course documents digitally accessible
• Conversational ability or fluency in a language other than English
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems.
• Ability to work with student populations who represent a wide range of academic ability.
