Job Summary
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville invites applications for a part-time Practical Nursing Adjunct Instructor. This is an opportunity for an experienced nurse to share their expertise and help shape the next generation of practical nurses. The instructor provides quality instruction and fosters a positive, supportive learning environment, with primary emphasis on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
This adjunct position works fewer than 30 hours per week. Days, hours, and instructional assignments are based on program and student needs and may vary by trimester. Travel to clinical sites and other TCAT Oneida/Huntsville campuses may be required.
PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM
The Practical Nursing Program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. Graduates earn a diploma in Practical Nursing and may be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN, the licensing exam for practical nurses in Tennessee.
Graduates are prepared to provide knowledgeable, basic care to patients with a range of physical needs, working under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. LPNs find positions in hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians' offices, home health agencies, and other healthcare settings.
Job Duties
Instruction & Student Learning
• Teach and supervise nursing students in classroom and clinical settings.
• Evaluate and advise students.
• Maintain and complete required reports.

Program & Clinical Support
• Follow current, approved course syllabi and deliver instruction aligned with program competencies.
• Support positive, professional relationships with assigned clinical sites and meet their requirements for student supervision.
• Assist with student recruitment and promotion of the program within the community as requested. - (Essential)
Compliance & Professional Development
• Communicate professionally, tactfully, and courteously with students, colleagues, clinical partners, and the general public.
• Conduct all activities in accordance with FERPA, applicable laws, TBR policies, and COE accreditation standards.
• Remain current in the healthcare field and in instructional methods, and attend required in-service and professional development activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or administration. - (Essential)

SALARY
This position’s rate of pay is $30.00 per hour, in accordance with Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines.
