Job Summary

TCAT Jacksboro is accepting applications for the position of Associate Instructor in the Practical Nursing program. This is a full-time and grant-funded position. The salary range is a minimum of $54,075 to midpoint $64,890 depending on experience. 

Job Duties

• Develop course of study and conduct training program
• Confer with administration to gain knowledge and better understand changes in policies, procedures, and technologies
• Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods utilizing knowledge of specific training needs and effectiveness of such methods as individualized and group instruction, lecture, demonstration, and conference
• Select or develop teaching aids, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and reference materials
• Maintain student records and reports
• Responsible for student placement and assist with student follow-up
• Cooperate with outside agencies; work with program advisory committee; conduct visits to business and industry; establish and maintain good public relations with the college’s general public.
• Participate in recruitment of students
• Supervise students’ clinical experiences as scheduled
• Actively seek potential clinical sites for the provision of clinical training
• Maintain ongoing competencies required for RN licensure by participating in continuing education opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree in a related field from an accredited institution. Current Tennessee Registered Nurse license required. Three years of current hospital and/or nursing home experience. A comparable combination of education and related employment experience may be considered.

• Ability to deal tactfully with the public and co-workers.

• Ability to communicate well on a functional level in both written and verbal form.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

BSN preferred

Teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an instructor and to interact with students

• Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude, and stable personality

• Must possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students a plus.
