Position Announcement

Practical Nursing Instructor (Full-Time or Part-Time) Position

 

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Upper Cumberland is accepting applications for the position of Adjunct Practical Nursing Instructor and Associate Practical Nursing Instructor. The instructor will work under the direction of the Coordinator of Practical Nursing and with PN faculty. A high standard of personal and professional ethics with a sincere interest in teaching and nursing is desired. A criminal background check will be required for the selected applicant.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Associate Degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Current TN Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of 3 years current hospital and/or nursing home experience.
  • Previous teaching experience a plus.

 

General Duties:  

  • Teach full course curriculum; develop course outlines, lesson plans, lectures, and exams.
  • Supervise student’s clinical experiences as scheduled.
  • Provides individual evaluation of each student’s progress with counseling and appropriate recommendations when required.
  • Maintains confidential, accurate, and complete student records.
  • Participate in recruitment of students and placement of graduates.
  • Maintains ongoing competency required for RN licensure by participation in continuing education opportunities.

 

Salary:  Commensurate with experience and according to salary guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
