The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) is Tennessee's largest higher education system, governing 40 post-secondary educational institutions with over 200 teaching locations. The TBR system includes 13 community colleges and 27 colleges of applied technology, providing programs to students across the state, country and world.
GENERAL DUTIES
The practical nursing instructor, under the direction of the Director of Nursing, shall be responsible for the following areas including, but not limited to: planning, developing, initiating, and teaching the approved instructional program for practical nursing students in both the classroom and clinical setting; maintaining confidential, accurate and complete records on paper and electronically; providing individual evaluation of each student’s progress with counseling and appropriate recommendations when required; supervising students’ clinical experiences as scheduled; and maintaining good public relations with clinical partners. The practical nursing instructor will also assist with student placement and student follow-up; participate in recruitment of students; cooperate with outside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits to related business and industry; and establish and maintain good public relations within the college’s service area. Some travel is required. Clinical hours vary.
