Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations, the Project Manager/Designer is responsible for coordinating multiple construction and renovation projects concurrently. In these projects, the Project Manager / Designer will serve as the primary contact for bidding, scheduling, and all aspects of local and in-house construction. The Project Manager / Designer will also produce construction documents using CAD software such as DataCAD, AutoCAD and/or Revit, and maintain an up-to-date drawing archive of hard copy and electronic records.
Job Duties
• Act as the primary contact for local and in-house construction and renovation projects, including schedule coordination with faculty, staff, contractors, and others affected by the work
• Produce construction documents, using CAD software such as DataCAD, AutoCad, and/or Revit, bid specifications, and cost estimates
• Maintain project archive of construction plans, spec books, O&M manuals, etc.
• Order necessary material, coordinate equipment required, and manage all change orders
• Oversee job site safety
• Work with project scheduling system
• Update digital as-built documents
• Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in design, construction, or other facilities-related field
• One year of experience working with CAD software for design/construction
• Three years in facilities maintenance, building design, or construction
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field
• CAD certification
• Five or more years of experience in facilities maintenance, design, or construction
• Experience in facilities or construction on a college campus
• OSHA 30 certification
• Conversational ability or fluency in a second language
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: MS Office suite to include MS Project, GIS software, videoconferencing software, digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
• Ability to produce accurate, high-quality CAD drawings for construction blueprints
• Familiar with building, life safety, ADA, and other codes associated with facilities maintenance; ability to effectively work with entities outside the college, such as state and local authorities, contractors, vendors, architects and engineers, etc.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all constituents of the college
